Users appreciate its ability to centralize scattered information in an attractive template, making it easily accessible. As one user describes, LumApps acts as an online employee handbook and resource hub, providing a central location for information, community building, and effective communication. It replaces legacy corporate communication platforms and improves connectivity and efficiency in communicating with employees.

One of the key use cases of LumApps is as a platform for internal communications to create and spread employee news and information. It serves as a one-stop-shop for company news, updates on benefits, and HR-related content. By providing a centralized database for information sharing, LumApps meets the needs of global teams. It also facilitates both vertical and horizontal communication within the company by offering quick access to necessary information for work tasks. Another user shares their experience with LumApps: It serves as a document repository, community post platform, and directory. It ensures ease of finding information and resources, improving efficiency. Furthermore, LumApps acts as an intranet site for centralized information such as frequently used links, organizational charts, and company news.

In addition to its role in internal communications, LumApps also supports collaboration and connection among employees. By enabling employees to connect and engage in a digital environment, it bridges geographical gaps within the organization. One user highlights this aspect by saying that LumApps enables employees to connect and engage in a digital environment, bridging geographical gaps. Moreover, the software continuously innovates by integrating with other platforms and providing a customizable interface to enhance the user experience. This flexibility allows companies to tailor LumApps to their specific needs.

Overall, LumApps serves as a comprehensive solution for internal communication, information sharing, and employee engagement. It addresses the problem of scattered information by centralizing it in an accessible and visually appealing format. With its array of features and functionalities, LumApps supports various use cases such as team collaboration, company-wide announcements, resource sharing, and fostering a sense of community among employees.

Analytics limitations: Users have mentioned their dissatisfaction with the analytics side of LumApps. They stated that it does not show user-specific data and finding information on which associates use the intranet the most is difficult. This limitation hinders their ability to gain valuable insights from the platform.

Lack of integration options and out-of-the-box templates: Several users wished for more integration options with files and desired out-of-the-box templates to reduce the need for design assistance. They also expressed a desire for better metrics without relying solely on Google's services, highlighting a need for enhanced flexibility and customization within LumApps.

LumApps is our current intranet provider. We purchased LumApps a year ago and just finished implementation of the product. We use it as our companies primary source for internal information. LumApps addressed our companies problem with multiple sources of information, information confidence, and communication problems between areas of our company.

The Scope of the product was to design a website that could be easily used to control information and communication flow across our companies multiple business lines and between our field sites and corporate headquarters. It is now our companies One-Start shop for information, our visible user directory, a company community platform, and home base to connect to all our companies web applications.
  • Webpage and Information Management- It's straightforward to navigate and to allow a single source of information to easily be placed in multiple areas of the intranet without creating multiple versions of files. Further it has enabled us to use the same piece of information across business lines without creating multiple copies of a document or webpage.
  • Simple webpage design- The program is very easy to use and edit allowing for multiple page owners across different sectors while still being able to managed by a overall by a small team of users. It sacrifices some robustness of customization for simple use which makes it much easier for multiple users to control the information and manage the product as a whole.
  • Great User Community and product assistance- The product keeps growing actively and gets better. The company itself is great at communicating with its clients about future roll-outs, initiatives, and updates to their product. They also have a robust knowledge base that is easy to understand and allows for quick answers to questions on how to use the product. Their Customer Service team also works diligently to solve problems with the system and communicates frequently with it's clients if their is a problem to help quickly resolve issues.
  • Integration- It has integrations with other products, but they are not always the best. The integrations do not always have the best functionality and are sometimes buggy. It's integrations with Microsoft is good, but it can be improved. It's integration with other products I feel is lacking and could be improved in its presentation.
  • Lack of customization- To have ease of use, it does lack customization. It has standard tools, which are great, but going beyond standard is difficult at the easiest to impossible at the worst. Overall I do not mind this because what it offers is robust, but it is a cautionary tale to those more interested in customization over a solid product.
  • Calendar Functionality- It does not have great calendar functionality. Setting group shared calendars is difficult and is an area of communication I wish the product would improve.
Suited for- It's a great one start shop for information. If you want your data all in one place and easy to access, you cannot beat LumApps for this. It's ease of placing pages across multiple sectors, menu navigation, and org chart integration are lovely. It showcases information and files very well with easy web page design that brings it all together. With only a little bit of training many people can use the product and create content.

Less Appropriate- While great at what it does it is still a place to showcase information, not house it. It's not a replacement for Microsoft or Google regarding online file storage. It does not do the storage. It just makes files easy to access if your company houses them already. This same idea applies to Active Directory, it can do a lot of great customization of roles and allow/highlight information for people if they already have great data about people. It is a challenge if the backend data profiles of a person are not already syncing from other systems.

In my company, we use LumApps as our intranet. It allows employees to find key information, newsletters, and articles posted in relation to the company and its employees.
  • It offers user-friendly navigation.
  • User management is simple once setup correctly.
  • It offers many different options for creating posts and articles.
  • Search functionality is lacking for groups.
  • If you Copy and Paste from other sources, it often leads to undesired results.
Well suited: For communicating and archiving important articles and events regarding your company and employees. Directing employees to your intranet to allow them to find the answer they are looking for will encourage the use of the intranet. Less well suited: Not as well suited for communicating emergency or time-sensitive events regarding your company or employees. Employees may miss or not check the intranet as often as perceived without direction and could miss these events.

We needed a new intranet with more features to enable informed and engaged associates. Prior to using LumApps, our main communication channel with our teams was email. LumApps has given us a simple way to host content online and share news and information, while also allowing associates to interact and have more 2-way dialogue through comments, likes, and sharing. We're in the early stages of our implementation but have already gotten feedback that the platform is allowing us to achieve our goals. Looking forward to continued growth and development with this product.
  • Simple user interface
  • Secure
  • Good support
  • Documentation could be improved - lots of it but not always easy to find what I need
LumApps is an easy-to-use intranet platform with relatively simple implementation. It would be especially useful in a company where associates bring their own devices, as the mobile app is very useful. Reaching associates who do not work in front of a computer continues to be a challenge. This product would also be excellent for an organization using the Google suite (Gmail, Google Drive, etc.).

As part of our move to Google Workspace, LumApps was chosen as the product to build our Intranet on. This allowed us to create a truly unified Intranet portal that is tightly integrated into the productivity tools we use on a daily basis. Prior to the move to Google Workspace and LumApps, it was difficult to locate information.
  • Organization and presentation of information
  • Integration with Google Workspace
  • Ease of adding and updating content
  • There is still some room for improvement with navigation, but that might be more about how our sites and pages were developed.
It works well both on the desktop as well as a mobile device. Being able to have companywide information easily accessible via my mobile device has been very beneficial.

I work with a content creator to create a page for thousands of people to access and use on various continents.
  • Looks good
  • Search is great
  • Once learned, the editing and management are decent
  • Hard to edit and manage for a lay person
  • reviewing content you want to send to many before going live is very hard or impossible
It works well for internal pages the teams can use to highlight their group, and provide access to various needed and important content. It has been perfect for our internal Internet for many reasons, mostly including search and the ability to find all the different teams sites and content

We have been using LumApps in different capacities. Our main focus has been around internal employee engagement and sales notifications. Our goal has always been to give employees a single place for all of their news, information, links and documentation. LumApps has provided that and more.
  • Highlights important news and information
  • Integration with Google
  • Their client service and support is exceptional
  • LumApps provides historical analytics and best practices to help make the right decisions
  • Platform needs to be more nimble
  • Improved and enhanced analytics
  • Better employee groups and easier integration of dynamic list
LumApps is well suited for large enterprise clients.

For my team we use LumApps for two purposes - 1 as an internal hub and 2 as a hub and community space for our program partners
  • host static information
  • tagging
  • user directory
  • slow load times
  • lots of bugs (you save changes to a page but then they did not actually save or you update a widget but then something else on the site breaks)
  • would like to see analytics (at least log in) by user
I highly recommend LumApps for its ability to warehouse information - as an organization, we have been able to curate content (both news and employee resources) for employees to find, access, and search at their leisure. The usage of metadata and tags allows for flexible searching options and we can highlight or restrict access by employee groups. Not all of our users log in with Google and that has caused a lot of trouble for us in the past as LumApps is clearly most suited with Google Suite both from a front and back end perspective. Our staff also still prefer Slack for communicating versus LumApps communities (I am aware there is no integration but don't have this enabled in our plan). I found LumApps to be designed for there to be one company landing page and then differentiate from there and this was not our use case -- we purchased for the org but each department had very different use cases and reasons for their sites to be independent. I would think carefully about using LumApps if this applies to you because a great deal of coordination is involved.

We use LumApps as our Intranet site where all the employees can post and read all the latest and greatest news related to the company.
  • News and Articles
  • Quicklinks
  • Organization Chart
  • Polls
  • Very tedious and difficult to customize the page in terms of alignment, borders applying graphics
  • The domain customization is still missing (the url says sites.lumapps.com/xyz)
  • The communities can be better specially adding videos with thumbnails.
  • News and articles can be made visually more appealing in terms of effects. (Scroll, bounce, fade, slide, etc)
  • Copying and pasting already created page into different section is not possible
LumApps is suited if your organization has pre-determined templates and page layouts it's not suited for the people who wants to create a page layout from scratch and use creative layouts as it takes a lot of time to add widgets and align them together as per one's idea.

Creating intranet pages for different communities as well as content for everyone in the organization.
  • I can see the page metrics for the pages I create.
  • I have the ability to manage content on my own pages fairly easily.
  • I can integrate media including images and Google Slides.
  • Hard to include video on a page because the video needs a URL.
  • It is a little hard to learn but that could be because of the way we have customized the editing tools.
  • The search tool doesn't always give good results but that might be because of the way that we have integrated it into our google platforms.
It is suited for intranets where there is a wide network of distributed content owners. There are over 10,000 at my organization, and anyone has the option of creating content or engaging with content.

We currently utilize LumApps to offer an employee intranet. We allow internal comms to create content and currently use it to spread employee news. It allows us to have a drag and drop content creation process and allow us to move away from slack with our outgoing messaging. It also allows for easier access to older content that slack has a harder time surfacing.
  • Offers simple addition of custom content types that give the ability to apply different access and distribution levels.
  • The HTML widget allows for the simple removal of WYSIWG tools to simplify the view for content contributors.
  • The ability to rearrange layouts is very simple.
  • A lot of the documentation is lacking.
  • The support is not extremely helpful.
  • The settings for many things are not clear.
  • There are many tools in the platform that have unclear behavior.
  • Templates are not recursive, so when a template is modified the content using that template will not change
  • The WYSIWYG editor auto formats HTML which is unhelpful when trying to embed code.
  • The notifications are not consistent.
I think that this tool is very well suited for a small company looking to send one-sided communication, or possibly communication with comments. Unfortunately, this platform lacks the ability to scale well, and leaves a tremendous amount of technical debt when the amount of pages grows, because when one element moves on a page, that needs to be moved on all pages manually. Customization beyond minimal widget design is difficult, and the fact that there are many things that cannot be changed makes this a difficult recommendation for anyone looking for a highly visual platform.

We use it to create and support knowledge management on our intranet. We have a lot of information on our company and we want to be able to manage this in a less friction way. We use LumApps to give the possibility of our users creating content on our intranet as well but following our brand guidelines and best practices.
  • The freedom we have to create pages, how we create them.
  • The possibility to adjust the CSS as we want, this makes some things easier for us.
  • The way we design pages is not intuitive at all.
  • The global widgets could behave like components, for example, if I create a button as a global widget, it could at least be possible to change the label of it, this way we can reuse better this widget.
  • Recently we noticed that the search only shows us results of the site's main language, so if I search for content that is in Portuguese and the platform is in English, I couldn't find the content, this is really annoying because we have a lot of content in other languages.
  • Adjusting the link of a widget is way better than use the button widget.
We use LumApps to create a collaborative space to create and manage relevant content inside the company, with the possibility to create templates and manage permissions to different people and groups to make it easier to be a more collaborative space without our designs being a mess. LumApps is not an intuitive tool to use, the learn curve is not the best, so most of our users have very difficulty being used to the tool, they spend a lot of time learning how to use it.

We use LumApps as our primary workforce portal. We share company news, events, and policies, along with community collaboration
  • Audience targeting
  • Supports multiple languages
  • Flexible design & style
  • Mobile readiness
  • Administration of content and users is limited from reporting and historical logs
  • Not easy to move things around on the back-end
  • Not easily adaptable as you grow or change direction
The platform is great for small to medium-sized companies with the need to quickly communicate with the workforce in different and modern ways. If you know what you want and how to do it from the beginning it's easy to work within the platform. Content targeting, notifications, page design is all very flexible and work well. If you are a large-scale company that may change over time, it's a bit harder to change what you have set up without a lot of work to make the "new" approach work, it also doesn't offer any different "administrator" level permissions.

LumApps replaced Google Sites as our company intranet, and it is a HUGE improvement. It allows for two-way communication, more employee involvement in content (via communities), the ability to publish individual articles/content without publishing the entire site (previously we had to maintain a separate site to build out the content for layout and approvals). We're barely scratching the surface of its features, and as a financial services institution there are some features we just may never use, but it has helped tremendously when I tell other departments/teams what they can do in LumApps (to keep them from creating their own websites outside of Corporate's view or direction, which we had a serious problem with before). Being able to set page-level permissions for department content is great, and for all others giving them Communities to post and comment satisfies their needs.
  • page-level permissions
  • targeting content to specific groups
  • creating spaces for information conversations
  • previewing pages before publishing
  • allowing end-users to control the widgets on their dashboard (e.g. not everyone wants to see an email preview, but it's either on or off for all)
  • not letting the company set default notification options before turning them on, or not letting notifications be opt-in at the individual level
It does everything we need and more, hence the 10. But for small companies or companies that don't have large geographic footprints they need to bridge, it is likely cost-prohibitive, and the features won't be as beneficial.

We are using Lumapps to help us solve a decade problem around knowledge management & internal communications. It's working as our intranet and we are using it in many ways, such as the main portal for internal comms, the source of truth for policies and other types of content that supports our operation, a well-curated knowledge base, the main place for communities of practices, among others.
  • Support for communities
  • Seamless integration with Google Workspace
  • Permission control in different levels
  • Content creation could be easier
  • Notifications by email could be customized with company's brand
LumApps is an amazing tool to support internal communications in an effective way. The community feature that Lumapps offers is also great to foster social interaction and collaboration, especially during times when physical offices are becoming much less important for most companies. Also, the integration with Google Workspaces makes the experience much more fluid for our employees and the Google Cloud Search experience brings considerable value. On the admin side, we appreciate the permission control that allows us to set up different levels of access, making it easier to avoid mistakes, like people editing someone else's content accidentally. On the other hand, we can see room for improvements on the content creation experience, especially when considering knowledge base content where collaboration is key. We see LumApps efforts in this direction, but we still miss some level of simplicity on the experience as a whole.

LumApps is our company-wide intranet platform. All employees have access to the intranet upon joining the company. LumApps provides a repository of Division, Department, Team, Project, and Informational pages (think websites), for our employees. This helps create a centralized location for employees to come to when seeking internal focused information.
  • LumApps has strong page design capabilities.
  • LumApps Communities make it easy for interest groups to consolidate information in a centralized space.
  • LumApps has very good Google integrations.
  • Certain features on the back-end admin are very good. Like you can easily manage Roles to provide different levels of capabilities to certain users. You can also easily make content templates for specific teams and make them private to that particular team.
  • If you aren't using communities, the aspect of "Following" pages is more of a workaround than a fully baked feature.
  • Users are unable to "Follow" other users and elect to get notified when those users create content. Many employees have asked for the ability to receive notifications for any peer, manager, or Executive staff member they choose to follow, and there is not currently a way to enable this.
  • Communities are great for quick simple posts, but the editor lacks rich capabilities. For instance, you can't save drafts and copying and pasting removes all formatting. This means you must create your content in the LumApps editor all in one attempt.
  • There are some limitations for system administrators on the backend. For example, I can't natively bulk edit content in the back end of the system. I also can't reorganize our metadata hierarchy or even alphabetize our metadata. I have to open a ticket with the vendor for that.
  • It can be very slow. Although they are working on that.
  • Search could be improved.
+LumApps is a good tool if you are looking to create places for top-down communication. If you only have a select number of users who are posting regularly, you can set up pages to highlight that specific content, and even push notifications to distribution lists. -However, if you enable everyone at the company to create content, it can become unwieldily. Depending on what editor type you use, permissions are more of an "All or nothing," unless you hide features with CSS. +This platform is also solid if your company heavily utilizes Google suite. You can build the integrations directly into pages and templates. -LumApps is not a wiki.

We use LumApps for Intranet. This is used within the whole company. Other than hosting information web pages, we have LumApps integrated with our AD for staff directory information. Our company uses Google Workspace as our day-to-day collaboration and productivity solution, and this integrates with LumApps on authentication. We also put files in Google Drive which then appears as lists on our Intranet pages.
  • Integration with Google Workspace e.g. Google Drive.
  • Easy to amend pages and publish.
  • Integration with AD for users information e.g. Staff Directory.
  • For pages on "Offices", though we have a calendar for each office to show upcoming public holidays, the calendar will disappear if there are no forthcoming entries, making it a bit confusing.
  • In the Staff Directory, it is far easier to look at subordinates of staff, but if to look at all the managers and up levels, it needs many clicks to display managers of each level.
  • Not very user-friendly for new administrators who will need to maintain and create new pages.
Quite good integration if the company is using Google Workspace (maybe also as good with other platforms though) The thing is that it does not need to be on VPN to access the Intranet, which is a good thing when now most users are working from home or it is a hybrid working pattern.
